All 8 maps: zones, the tour and how to unlock them

In Endless and the Daily Drift a run tours the maps: every 400 points it moves on to another, and every 100 it changes zone. Here is how they are dealt, how they unlock and what each is made of.

Data taken from the game’s code · version 2.0 · Updated 29 September 2026

How the tour works

  • Each map lasts a leg of 400 points split into 4 zones of 100. At every 100-point milestone the colour turns, and the building (the walls) follows 50 points later, over a 10-second cross-fade.
  • The first stretch of every new map is a quiet gate, a breather to watch it arrive.
  • The next map is dealt from a shuffled deck: every map comes round before any comes twice, and none follows itself. The deck includes maps you have not reached yet — the tour is how you find them.
  • Most maps shuffle their zones too: every visit opens on its zone 1 and deals the other three in a new order. Classic and the Desert do not: their zones are a day, walked in order from morning to night. Classic has two days; a run’s first visit walks the first, later visits draw one.
  • A third of a map’s ordinary chunks are its own obstacles. And every leg brings its bosses or announced set pieces: the first 10–16 chunks after arriving, then one every 40–55 — about two a visit.

How they unlock

  • A new save has 3 maps: Classic, the Depot and the Aliens. The tutorial is on Classic.
  • Every other map unlocks the first time a run flies into it (on the tour) or when it is the Daily Drift’s map.
  • An Endless run opens on a map drawn from the ones you have, each equally likely. You never pick it. In Race you do pick, from the maps reached.
  • Halloween is seasonal: it flies only from 19 October to 8 November. Outside those dates no run opens on it or passes through it, but what you earned there stays.
